Toyota Innova replaced the ageing Qualis from the Indian market in 2004. Since then, the Innova has remained the top choice when it comes to the MPVs. First Generation Innova 2005
Innova was launched in the Indian Market on February 24th, 2005. The Innova replaced the legendary Toyota Qualis and had to fulfill high expectations which it did perfectly. It was the first 3-row seating passenger car in the Indian market and redefined the MPV segment. The first generation Innova was powered by a 2.5 L D-4D common-rail diesel engine that produced 102PS of power and 200Nm of torque and also had a Petrol variant used that was powered by a hefty 2.0L VVT-i engine that generated 136PS of power and 182Nm of torque.

Mileage
Toyota claims a mileage of 14.29 kmpl for the 2.8L automatic variant. I managed a decent 12.5kmpl on Eco mode while it dropped as low as 9kmpl on the Power mode. Considering the size of the vehicle and the power on tap, these figures are impressive, indeed.
Easy Maintenance
The spare parts of the Toyota Innova Crysta come at a very affordable rate. Hence, this MUV is comparatively easy to maintain. The Innova is known to have excellent build quality. Hence, the problem of malfunction and replacement is quite rare.
An Innova sold in Coimbatore has crossed 10 lakh km. The dealer, Annamalais Toyota has brought out an ad of the vehicle. Interestingly, this Innova is a private vehicle and not a commercial one. Also, 10 lakh km is the highest reading of the odometer.

The Toyota Innova Crysta can be had with two powerful and fuel-efficient engines, both of which meet the latest BSVI emissions well before these standards become mandatory for Indian cars. The 2.4-litre GD-diesel engineis the most powerful in its class, with great low-end torque and efficiency. The 2.7-litre TR petrol engine has a relatively low weight that reduces fuel consumption. Toyota Dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (Dual VVT-i) ensures a more efficient and smoother drive. This, in turn, reduces vibrations and noise inside the cabin, leading to a luxurious experience. Aside from an easy-to-use 5-speed manual gearbox, both engines can also be had with an efficient and responsive 5-speed automatic gearbox.
